Model Car Restoration

 1969 Dodge Charger

We all know about the classic dodge charger as it first came to public attention in 1964 at an autoshow. Later in 1965 a concept car was launched and then 1966 came when the first dodge charger rolled of the production line. It truly became a legend. Although the dodge charger has seven 7⃣ generations but the most recognizable and collectable are the early three generations. My personal favourite is second generation 1969 dodge charger because of its 3.7l engine and front grill and redesigned rear tail lights. Dodge also launched the daytona version of the classic charger in 1969 for NASCAR but later it was also sold to the general public. I love these mopars so I decided that why not made models of these classic mopars so I made this model car of 1969 dodge charger 5 years ago and since it was sitting in the storage for so long time has taken its tow on this model car

As you can see it's old version was 1969 red with silver roof but now I am planning to convert it into none other than 1970 fnf dodge charger, this means I have to change its color and do some 70's modifications on the car. Now let's strip it down to its bare shell

After striping down the model car it is now time to add 70's modifications
I need to make a front grill panel and secondly roof assembly along with A- pillar and front bumper panel

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner

When we hear the name roadrunner we all recall our childhood memories of a superfast bird cartoon who was chased by a wild cayotte. As the bird was hard to catch in the anime Plymouth decided to make a car like that bird which inherited its name, power and most importantly its sound (beep beep). Roadrunner came out in 1967 and soon became one of the best selling mopars basically it was designed to catch the youth market. It remained in production till 1973 sadly but during its run it built its reputation among car enthusiasts.
Being a mopar fan myself I made a model car of 1969 Plymouth roadrunner approximately 5 year's ago although it was not quite eye catching but still it hold a special place in my heart.

As you can see it was not as much appealing as it should had so 2 years ago I began its restoration
First I took off its body from the chasis then I stripped off the lights and the bumpers just the body shell remained and then I repaired its body shell replaced all the damaged pieces like the front screen pillars and the rear quarter panels

Then after all the pieces were changed it was time to put papermache on the body shell after it was dried overnight I glacé coated it with its new color RED. The reason I chose the red color was that it gave this car an aggressive eye catching look.

After it was dried I started detailing the car. Now we gave this car silver radiator grill and silver front and back bumpers which we made from aluminium tin can

We also detail its hood with black glacé paper and with new lights and licence plate it began to look awesome.

After all the detailing we placed the body on the chasis and made a new screen pillar using tin can. We also gave this model car new exhaust pieces, new tail lights and a convertible mechanism model piece. After the restoration Plymouth Roadrunner looked like this
